The two boys are best friend’s even Hassan is Amir’s servant. They are almost like brothers because and do almost everything together. They live together in the same house and play together every day and that Hassan makes Amir breakfast and makes his bed does not seem to bother the two friends. The other boys in the neighborhoods are often going after them because it’s not accepted to be friends whit your servant but Hassan always stands up for himself and Amir.
Amir is always trying to find out who far Hassan is willing to go for him, and as the good friend and servant Hassan is, he always does what Amir ask him to.
But one thing is about to ruin their relationship. After winning the yearly kite competition in Kabul Hassan gets raped by some of the older boys who often them. Amir is watching the whole thing at distends but as always he doesn’t have the guts to do anything about it. He feels bad and cannot look Hassan in the eye anymore.
Whit feelings like betrayal and bad conscience Amir and his father flee to America. After many years Amir goes back to Kabul and now has the chance to make it up to Hassan.
